PAWS-n-PURRsist is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Southern Indiana and Greater Louisville.

Our mission is to keep pets and the people who love them together by providing temporary foster care, emergency boarding, and support during times of crisis.

We recognize that individuals seeking assistance may be experiencing domestic violence, homelessness, substance use treatment, medical emergencies, mental health challenges, or other difficult circumstances.

We are committed to respecting the privacy, dignity, safety, and confidentiality of every individual and family we serve.

We may collect personal information when individuals contact us, request assistance, complete an application, volunteer, foster, donate, or participate in our programs.

This information may include:

• Names, telephone numbers, and email addresses.
• Information about pets, including medical history, vaccination records, and care requirements.
• Information voluntarily provided about a client's circumstances and need for assistance.
• Foster and volunteer application information.
• Donation and supporter contact information.
• Communications submitted through our website, email, or application forms.

We encourage visitors not to include sensitive personal information in general website contact forms.

Information collected by PAWS-n-PURRsist may be used to:

• Respond to inquiries and requests for assistance.
• Review crisis care applications and determine program eligibility.

Clients are never required to publicly share their identity, personal experiences, or circumstances to receive assistance.

We understand that anonymity may be especially important for individuals experiencing domestic violence, participating in substance use treatment, or navigating other sensitive situations.

Our commitment is to provide services with compassion, dignity, and respect.

PAWS-n-PURRsist may share photographs, pet updates, reunification stories, and program accomplishments through our website, social media, newsletters, and fundraising materials.

Client participation in publicity is entirely voluntary.

We seek appropriate authorization before sharing identifying client photographs, names, testimonials, or personal stories.

Clients may choose to authorize:

• Photographs of their pets without identifying the owner.
• Their pet's name and a general story without personal identifying information.
• Photographs or stories identifying the owner, with explicit permission.
• No photographs, stories, or publicity involving their participation.

Permission to share a pet's photograph does not automatically authorize disclosure of the owner's identity or personal circumstances.

Declining publicity consent will not affect eligibility for assistance or the quality of services provided.

Clients may contact PAWS-n-PURRsist to withdraw permission for future use of their information or photographs. We will review requests to remove previously published materials where reasonably possible, although content already shared or redistributed by others may not be fully recoverable.

We take additional precautions when sharing information that could reveal a client's location, safety concerns, treatment participation, or other sensitive circumstances.

PAWS-n-PURRsist may share limited information with authorized individuals or organizations when reasonably necessary to coordinate requested services.

These may include:

• Approved foster caregivers and volunteers.
• Veterinary professionals and animal care providers.
• Temporary boarding facilities.
• Community organizations assisting with client services.
• Service providers supporting our nonprofit operations.

We seek to limit disclosures to information reasonably necessary for the intended purpose.

PAWS-n-PURRsist uses Google Forms to collect crisis care applications and certain other program information.

Information submitted through these forms is stored within our organization's Google account and may be processed by Google in accordance with its applicable privacy and security practices.

Authorized organizational representatives may access information as necessary to review applications and coordinate services.

We encourage applicants to provide accurate information while avoiding unnecessary disclosure of sensitive personal details.

Our website is hosted through GoDaddy.

Website forms, embedded content, donation platforms, Google Forms, and other third-party services may collect or process information according to their own privacy policies.

When visitors follow links to external websites, PAWS-n-PURRsist is not responsible for the privacy practices of those independent organizations.

We encourage visitors to review the privacy policies of third-party services before submitting information.
